Here is a great one today from Business Insider that shows just what an effect the ipad is having on the PC business.

It shows the drop in growth of HP‘s notebook shipments as well as the drop in the growth of PC notebooks overall. (BI have also added the data on Apple‘s growth in ipad shipments as a contrast.)

As you can see, a market that was going gangbusters two years ago – posting 20-40% growth – is now as flat as a pancake.

The reason? Tablets are cannibalizing notebooks, said analyst Dan Frommer.

Until someone can take the ipad at its own game, this trend looks set to continue into 2012, he said.
