Increased Apple Mac sales signal the death of the PC era
October 27, 2014
Let’s consider last quarter’s iPad and Mac numbers (above), compared to the previous year: Mac units grew 25% year-on-year, while iPads experienced a 7% decrease (although sales were much greater than for the Mac). Meanwhile, PC sales in general are declining.
We are looking at the death of the PC era. Says John Kirk:
“To the power conscious, the Mac compares very favorably to the top-of-the-line PC. Macs are a premium product and more and more, the only people buying notebooks and desktops are power users who are shopping for premium computing devices.”
Everyone else, who doesn’t need computer power, just buys a smartphone or tablet.
Bye bye PC.
