Ice bucket challenge: where your money goes

ALS Association (ALSA), has reportedly raised almost $90 million by its ice bucket challenge. Less than 30% of that money will go to research. Critics have said that this is too small a proportion (although it does reflect the organisation’s mission statement. To see where else the money goes look at the chart (below).
According to charity evaluator Charity Navigator, ALSA’s overall rating is 90.73/100, with a financial score of 87.24/100. By comparison, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA), with a cause not unlike ALSA’s, gets a score of 81.79/100 (financial score: 74.43/100) and devotes 66% of its funds to program-related activities.
