This week gossip site Gawker leaked some pictures of dogs painted by ex US President George W. Bush.
Pundits have wondered whether George is feeling cut off from his defining job at the White House. Robert Costa, noting the similarity between the subject of the painting and George himself, writes:
“The black bars. The dog’s face, its gray hair. The White House so close, but out of reach. The approaching dark cloud. “
